Walla Walla 2020 Offers New Website, Sets Annual Meeting, Expands Historic Research and Plaque Project
The citizens group Walla Walla 2020 has recently revamped its website, expanded its historic research and plaque project, and set its annual meeting for Monday, March 10, at 7 pm in the Fulton Community Room at the Walla Walla Police Department, 54 E. Moore. Please add this to your calendar. We hope you will attend.
Walla Walla 2020 was founded in 1988 to envision, plan for, and undertake projects to help realize a livable community in the Walla Walla area, now and for the future. Since its founding, the group has been promoting practices and systems that protect and enhance Walla Walla’s quality of life. These include bike and pedestrian facilities, transit, tree planting, low-water landscaping, downtown and neighborhood preservation and development, recycling and waste reduction, community gardens, parks, and sustainable economic development.
The Walla Walla 2020 Historic Research and Plaque Project has produced over 230 reports on historic properties as well as plaques honoring them. The project now has a team of three researchers available to prepare reports.
Thanks to Walla Walla 2020’s new webmaster, Chris Baird, the group’s new website offers information on a wide variety of Walla Walla 2020 projects and activities. For more information on Walla Walla 2020 and its projects, go to www.ww2020.org, call 509-522-0399, or email ww2020@charter.net.
