Walk with the Mayor Sunday, May 6, with 3:00pm start at Blue Ridge School

The second Walk with the Mayor will begin this Sunday, May 6, at 3:00 pm at the entrance to the south parking lot at Blue Ridge School. After introductions of all the walkers, including council members Tom Scribner and Steve Moss and Fire Chief Bob Yancey, the walk will go up Chestnut to Twelfth, north on Twelfth to Alder, east to Eleventh, south to Emma, west to Twelfth, and back on Chestnut to Blue Ridge.

Along the way, we’ll say a few words about the community facilities on the route, including Blue Ridge School, the VA Medical Center, the new Washington State Veterans Home, Walla Walla Housing Authority apartments, the main City fire station, The Barn art collective, and the Salvation Army service center.

In addition to getting to know neighbors, city officials, and walkers from other parts of the city, the walk will be good exercise for everyone, including a featured dog from the Blue Mountain Humane Society shelter. You are cordially invited to join us.
