Opportunity Beckons: Openings on Walla Walla City Committees
In case you hadn’t noticed, there are openings on quite a few City committees. This is a chance to add your own life experience and community values to discussions and recommendations about local policies, while learning more about how your city government works. Most of the committees meet once a month, usually for a maximum of an hour and a half.
The open seats I know of are on the following: Bike-Pedestrian Committee; Historic Preservation Committee; LEOFF Board (Law Enforcement Officers & Fire Fighters retirement fund); Parks, Recreation, and Urban Forestry Committee; Planning Commission; Sustainability Committee; and Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Committee.
If you’re reading this, you presumably can get online. For complete information about the committees and an online application form, go to the City’s website http://www.wallawallawa.gov. Click on City Government, then Boards, Commissions, and Committees.
Thank you for looking into service on a committee, and best wishes!
