Dedication Ceremony for Sign Honoring Italian Heritage at St. Francis Catholic Church

The public is invited to a dedication ceremony at 1 pm on Sunday, June 14 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 722 W. Alder, for a new Walla Walla 2020 sign honoring the history of Italian immigrants in the Walla Walla area.

The ceremony will feature an introduction by Walla Walla 2020, as well as brief talks by representatives of Saint Francis Catholic Church, the Italian Heritage Association, and Walla Walla’s Italian community, along with refreshments.

Following the talks there will be a ribbon-cutting for the sign on the corner of Alder and W. 10^th Streets.

The history of the Italian immigrant community will also be featured on a new page on the website of the citizens group Walla Walla 2020, along with details on over twenty other heritage sites in the county that can be found at ww2020.net/history-websites/.
