Honor a Walla Walla area building by obtaining a Walla Walla 2020 research report on its history

Walla Walla 2020 research reports cover the property’s history all the way back to when it was bare ground owned by local Tribes. Researched properties are also eligible to display a handsome plaque listing the date it was constructed, along with the names of its owners and builders.

Qualifying properties may be in any neighborhood, but must be at least 50 years old and have retained their architectural integrity. For those properties accepted, a photo of the property along with the completed research report will be included in the Walla Walla 2020 Interactive Map of Historic Properties available on this site.

Walla Walla 2020 Historic Research & Plaque Service will research the complete title and occupant history for accepted properties and provide a written report along with proposed plaque language. The research fee for residences is $150, and for other properties ranges from $250-$350, depending on the complexity of the title and occupancy.

Following completion of the report, the property owner may order a plaque (sample) for display on the property. The cost of a basic 9” x 6” six-line plaque is $50, with additional lines and sizes available on request. Is your existing plaque in need of a refresh or revision? Contact Dan Clark to inquire about ordering a new plaque.

Please note that preparation of a report by Walla Walla 2020 Historic Research & Plaque Service and/or plaque and inclusion in the Walla Walla 2020 Interactive Map of Historic Properties does not constitute the listing of the property on any official local/regional/national historic register. Application for such listings is in the discretion of the property owner. Walla Walla 2020 Historic Research & Plaque Service reserves the right to decline any/all research requests it finds do not meet program criteria.
